The faculty was founded in 1930 to solve scientific-&-research, technical and technological problems of the industry development. The approach to training is based on the combination of the fundamental and theoretical training with the deep mastering of the engineering practical work.

    Contemporary problems of theoretical, experimental and applied mechanics, reliability and optimisation of machines, devices and structures. • Dynamics and strength of machines and structures; ecology of new technologies; methods of operations research; equations of the mathematical physics; theoretical mechanics, methods of optimal planning and processing of experimental results, mechanics of composite materials, automatic design systems; software systems of dynamics and strength; design of structures for heavy-duty conditions.
• Methods of linear and non-linear dynamic programming; system optimization methods; automatic control theory; real-time control systems.

    Practical training
    Practical training is performed at the research, technological, design and analytical bureaus, departments of plants, firms, manufacturing and commercial companies, research institutes, information centers and analytical structures.

    Fields of professional activity
    Computation centers, information-&-analytical services, research, technological and design organizations and firms, production and financial structures. The graduates fill the positions of research engineers, mathematicians, system programmers and analysts, management services of manufacturing and commercial structures, communication services and centers, mass-media as programming, system, research engineers, managers, analysts, mathematicians.
