FINAL INFORMATION

A total of 80 scientists (including 31 young researchers) from Armenia, Belarus, Canada, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, United Kingdom and Ukraine participated at the Conference. The Conference demonstrated the great interest of investigators from different countries in studying nonlinear dynamics phenomena.

The Conference Program included the 24 (30-minutes and 25-minutes) presentations in General Session, 31 section presentations (in 6 sections), and 16 posters.
A lecture on Alexander Lyapunov’s activity at the Kharkov Technological Institute was presented. Opening of the A.M. Lyapunov memorial plaque took place.

The Conference presentations were devoted to theoretical investigations, computer simulation of vibration phenomena in nonlinear systems and experimental studies. The main subjects of the presentations were the nonlinear normal modes theory, resonances and bifurcations, complex and chaotic behaviour of oscillators and other theoretical aspects of the nonlinear dynamics; experiments, simulation, numerical analysis and their applications to the dynamics of structures, nonlinear vibrations and waves in fluids, solids, beams, blades, plates and shells; nonlinear dynamics in turbo-machinery, nonlinear vibrations of cantilever beams, cable-mass systems, nonlinear dynamics in drill problems and other engineering applications.
Some reports were dedicated to dynamic behaviour in structures as a creep and damage of their materials, and nonlinear dynamic effects in physics.

The Conference confirmed the importance of international cooperation by research teams involving scientists from different countries.

A book of abstracts has been published and distributed to the participants. Proceedings of the Conference will be published in 2007. The next Conference on Nonlinear Dynamics will be held in the future, perhaps, three years later.
